Our Chorus
Chartered in Elgin, Illinois, the Riverside Chorus is a group of women who
meet regularly to sing four-part, a capella harmony barbershop style music.
Members range in age from teenagers to senior citizens from all backgrounds
and walks of life.
We are a member of Sweet Adelines
International, a non-profit, world-wide corporation of women singers,
committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through
education and performance. Our Chorus chartered in September 1998 and participated
in its first regional competition in the spring of 1999.
Throughout the year, we participate in a number of events. The two highlights
of our year are participation in the Lake
Michigan Region 3 competition every spring and our show in the Fall.
We also have other singing engagements throughout the year including singing
valentines in February and Christmas caroling in December.
Our standing goals are to bring in new members, create more opportunities
to perform, and bring our love of four-part a capella music to the community.
We invite you to join us for an evening of singing, friendship and fun at
rehearsal every Tuesday from 7:00pm to 9:30pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church,
401 West Main Street, West Dundee, IL. For more information, email Wendy at info@riversidechorus.com.
Our sincere appreciation to the City of Elgin and the Cultural
Arts Commission for their generous support.
